Ensuring optimal oral hygiene through a periodontal maintenance program.

Periodontitis is an extremely complex inflammatory disease that may be reversible with early detection. Managing periodontal patients can be a frustrating – and rewarding – process for both patients and providers due to the numerous systemic and anatomical factors that can prevent an ideal outcome.

Patients who are unaware of why they are more at risk for periodontitis may continually receive treatment that is inconsistent with the etiology of their condition. This is particularly critical in cases where any removable or fixed prosthesis treatment is planned with the possible usage of implant therapy.

Dr. Hardev Singh and DOCS Education present Periodontics for the General Dentist to help explain the new classification of periodontitis that follows the medical model of staging and grading. Learn to provide appropriate periodontal treatment as well as the proper instruments to ensure optimal oral care for patients.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the importance of non-surgical and surgical therapy.
  • Learn what key anatomical contributing factors can lead to periodontitis, and how to rectify these issues.
